I have operated my own design & manufacturing business for the last 26 years, and I work with Tasmania’s unique special timbers. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design, and I got involved in my first conservation campaign over 35 years ago, (Lake Pedder), and I have runs on the board in urban conservation campaigns. Sure, I’m a Labor Party supporter, and I have been for years. At my first opportunity to vote I helped re-elect the Whitlam government in 1974. Of course, I haven’t always agreed with everything every Labor government has done, but as a Liberal supporter, did you support everything Howard ever did? And did you think Peter Reith was a good bloke who was just vilified by the media?
I go back to my original point. The Greens have lost me. As I have said, I used to give them second preference votes, but that was a while ago. Never again! Irretrievable. If they are losing people like me, they’ve got a fucked strategy. For a small party and their supporters to be that offside with every other political party in the manner that they are, it is a fucked strategy.
