Just in case anyone thought I had disappeared in a puff of smoke post the election, I can confirm that I am alive and well. I have taken a breather to recharge the batteries. The votedani website will soon to be transformed into http://www.daniecuyer.com. It was excellent to witness the newly elected Rudd government ratify Kyoto and go to Bali as part of the in crowd, not the out crowd. We now have a road map for the next two years of negotiations to create a post 2012 Kyoto agreement. No one would argue that this is an excellent first step, however given the scientific concensus that climate change is happening more rapidly, the challenges to drastically reduce global carbon emissions still loom over world politicians like the sword of Damocles.
