Neil Batt, a Tasmanian Labor Party Stalwart of the seventies and eighties will be launching the book and Dr Madill will speak about the change in career from medicine to politics – and his book.

The book covers a tempestuous time in Tasmanian Politics – the Franklin Dam campaign,  Labor Green Accord, the Rouse Bribery Scandal and subsequent Royal Commission – and is written in a lively and accessible manner.

Full of anecdotes and reflections this book is unique in conveying the personal story of a public life – Dr Madill was elected in Bass for the Liberal Party in 1986 and was a Member of Parliament for fourteen years.

Dr Madill’s earlier books have captured both a time and place with energy, personality and anecdotes and his writing is concise, approachable and good fun to read – of interest to anyone with an interest in Tasmanian political history as well as an audience wanting to read a local voice about the shenanigans of any parliamentary body.
