… as other contributors to this web-site have alluded, there are some very worrying political undertones at The Examiner. All I ever wanted to do was report in an unbiased manner on important issues that affected the community.
The fact the paper’s editorial comments continually espouse the virtues of a pulp mill isn’t suprising given that Gunns Ltd is their largest advertiser. Certain members of Examiner management have tried to stifle debate about the project or simply ensure certain aspects are not reported at all, eg Gunns announcing they wouldn’t be able to meet the deadline to submit an environmental impact assesment.
For the record I am neither pro or anti pulp mill as I haven’t seen enough reliable data to form an opinion …
