What has changed since 1975? There is now a higher level of awareness of the problems, their causes and the consequences that we could be facing, both with ecological sustainability and with global warming. In 1975 the only discussion in town was about the Earth. Now the discussion is expanding to include our role in the Solar System. Unlike 1975, our technology is far more advanced and there is open debate about how we could build a sun-shade in space to help cool the Earth, delivered with a new propulsion system, a magnetic sled. There is now advanced planning toward the construction of solar power from space, which would eliminate the need for coal, oil and gas. We are in a technological position to deliver a safe climate for the Earth, but one problem remains the same as in 1975: telling the story that will inspire and motivate enough people to support and work with a vision for our sustainability and survival on Earth. Sustainability and survival are now literally our choice and hopefully we will not leave it until its too late to connect all the dots and get serious about the larger picture for the future of the Human family. Clinging to the Earth alone may now be a death-trap. We may need to secure a sustainable presence in space in order to deliver a sustainable human presence on Earth and ensure our survival as a species and a civilization.

Well, no-one much listens to Supertramp anymore? Or records?
Nothing has changed except the edge is harder and there’s more to suffer an empty larder.
The frontiers are there but the but more empty tummies are near.
The greed is shaken but those memories are taken.
