DPIW site – pesticide monitoring of water catchments- flood monitoring -24-6-09- shows MCPA, 7 June to 10 June, continuously present (levels 0.19 to 1.49) with the highest levels approx 24 hrs after the start of sampling. So, the MCPA has likely come from either a long way up the catchment, or.. there were many sites the pesticides moved off-site and contaminated the river. Either way it’s bad for the Duck River and water users. California has listed MCPA as a chemical that is potentially carcinogenic to humans and stated recently produce must be labelled as such.
