THE troubled Tasmanian Labor MP Jodie Campbell has thrown open the marginal seat of Bass with her decision to quit at the next election. Her decision to return to family life is likely to be greeted with relief by the ALP, which saw her flounder in Canberra despite her warm personal style. Ms Campbell, 37, was unable to put her imprint on the demanding Launceston-based electorate, even before an alleged assault by her partner threatened to dominate perceptions in the run-up to the poll.
