Under the headline “Greens footy backflip”, a Mercury story reported these ‘developments’:
“Labor, Liberals and the Greens have now said they want to re-sign Hawthorn after the five-year, $16.4 million contract expires next year.
“But the Greens say they will not seeking naming rights and will wind the payments to Hawthorn back to $2 million a year.
“As well, they would take advertising rights and ticket sales at Aurora Stadium from the Hawks and divert that money into grassroots football clubs, depriving the Hawks of around $1 million in revenue.”
But it looks as if Mr McKim has not quite worked out the fine details of a genuine Godfather offer - you know, the ‘I will make an offer he can’t refuse’ sort of offer.
McKim’s offer looks more like one the HFC could easily refuse.
Besides, as with many such Greens offers and policies, they’ll hardly be in positions to decide who offers what to whom.

I agree with #2.I went into the Green Shop this morning.Outside was an A board with Green Policy initiatives. There was no mention of the Green policy on curbing the problem of excessive gambling.I went in and enquired.I made the fatal mistake of mentioning Andrew Wilkie’s initiative.
Oh boy,are they touchy about that issue.I was lucky to get out with my baritone voice still intact.
