Thomas Keneally at Fullers Bookshop

One of Australia’s most prolific and best known authors, Thomas Keneally, will be speaking at Fullers Bookshop about his monumental new history Australians: Volume 1: Origins To Eureka at 6pm, Thursday 3rd of September.

Keneally, 73, has been writing for 45 years and published 27 works of fiction and nine works of non-fiction.

He has been shortlisted for the most recognised prize for literature in the English language, The Booker, four times and won it for Schindler’s Ark in 1982.

Schindler’s Ark was made into the film Schindler’s List which won seven Academy Awards in1993.

Both overseas and at home he is recognised as one of Australia’s most successful authors and he is also a sought after speaker of distinction with strongly held views on the need for Australia to become a republic.

In March of 2009, the Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd, gave an autographed copy of Keneally’s Lincoln biography, Lincoln, to President Barack Obama as a state gift.

Please note – this event will be held at Fullers’ 140 Collins Street shop, as the move to 131 Collins has been delayed by one week.
