- No.

- I have a summons for him.

- What for?

The charge, read out, was serious but old news.

- He’s not here because he’s in jail.

She then asked if the other two summonses he held were for X and Y.

- Well, yes ….

- They’ve both been charged too, found guilty, jailed and one of them’s done his time and is out.  Now, was there anything else?

- No.

Just an embarrassed cop and a stunned mum who is still wondering how on earth this could have happened.
