The photo series “Running the Numbers” is incredible! I wonder what a Tasmania series would look like? Log trucks, felled trees, wood chips, hectares clearfelled…?

These images sum up so starkly, so beautifully, so eloquently the malaise that afflicts our society - rampant, illogical consumerism. The sooner the whole tottering shitpile falls over the better, as far as I’m concerned.

With the US GDP in the trillions (thousands of billions) their mountains of old mobiles are an eye-opener. Compare this to tiny Tasmania. All our old mobiles would easily fit onto one truck, yet the buffoons running this state think we are some kind of global commodity player.

What was that Kevin Rudd said as he handed out a couple of billion recently?
