Now my anger is multiplied by the shame I feel to having to hide behind a pseudonym when I voice my opinion, for fear of having Gunns strip my family of further assets in the interests of their shareholders.

I will no longer remain silent and impotent. Below is a list of actions I will be carrying out in my own name. I urge all thinking people to question the record and actions of Gunns Ltd and the Tasmanian Government, and to act on their conclusions.

  • I WILL petition both houses of the Tasmanian Government to condemn Gunns’ attack on democracy in the form of legal action against legitimate protest action.
  • I WILL petition both houses of the Tasmanian Government to remove the FOI exemption upon Gunns’ contractual arrangements with the Tasmanian people.
  • I WILL write to all members of the House of Assembly and the Legislative Council expressing my outrage and demanding more accountable government.
  • I WILL seek out every Gunns shareholder I can find and demand that they ethically justify their ownership of those shares.
  • I WILL support the ‘Gunns 20’ fighting fund.
  • I WILL NOT purchase Gunns products.
  • I WILL NOT allow this tyranny to go unchallenged.

In anger and sadness,

Rosinante
Hobart

I’ve had a gutful of this!

For some time now I’ve sat by and passively watched Gunns Ltd rape my home.  I’ve seen the pockets of its directors filled to bursting point by the shameless fire-sale of the natural assets of this place; assets owned by me - and you.

I’ve silently raged at the lack of accountability of this corporation, and the government which sponsors it.

I’ve despaired as my elected representatives in governing this island increasingly resort to bullying of anyone who dares to question this arrangement.
