Labor would reject any claimed Tony Abbott mandate to repeal carbon tax

‘Mr Swan and Climate Change Minister Greg Combet today also announced appointments to two statutory authorities created under the carbon tax legislation.

Dr Michael Vertigan was named chairman of a new Energy Security Council, which will ensure power generators have sufficient financial resources to maintain energy supply and stable prices under the $23 a tonne carbon tax from July 1 next year.’
