Going by Rudd’s article, he would be totally opposed to creating more foreign debt and financial dependency, by funding the largest infrastructure project in Tasmania’s history with capital sourced overseas. Rudd is also flagging the end of Labors decades long allegiance to ‘globalisation’.
The results of this open-ended ALP experiment have been catastrophic. So where will the ‘Ruddbot’ start ‘nation-building’? He’s poured billions into new sporting grounds across the country which is more ‘nation-dumbing’ than ‘up-smarting’. Karl, in response to your comments re the Rudd speech, I was of the opinion that the fact that PM Rudd didn’t do a ‘head in the sand’ ‘it’s the peoples fault’ rant, that from the time of Fibber Howard, would have been the Liberal approach to such grave matters, as typified by the cant of the current fumbling Liberal opposition.

William, it would have been hard for even a consummate ‘fibber’ like Howard to blame Australians for the US sub prime collapse, that started an economic ‘domino effect’. Its a good point nevertheless.
