We can, and should, pursue rationality as far as it extends. It is rational to pursue love. To pursue happiness. To want a deep and spiritual connection with the world and those around you. To insist that this instead needs to occur in a myst of irrational ancient religious belief is a disservice to society. The continued insistence that somehow a completely rational society would be all computers and men-in-white coats and a sci-fi-like sterilised almost Nazi-like world is plainly false.
