Gardening personality Peter Cundall has been named Tasmania’s Australian of the Year winner for 2009. The ABC stalwart was presented the award by Premier David Bartlett at a ceremony in Hobart tonight. Read more here

Well deserved as over the decades so many people of all age got motivated to appreciate learned so much from
Could we ever ask for better patrons of Biochar than Peter Cundall and Tim Flannery, the Australian of the Year 2007?

Congratulations Peter.
Contrast this man, the nature of his commitment to Tassie and the love the islands people have for him with the plight of John Gay.
Tasmania has voted for clean, clever and humble over dirty, dumb and arrogant.

What an inspiration Peter is to the Tamar Valley and all of Tasmania. And he got it in springtime when everything is blooming and we are getting some rain as well. Bloody marvelous!
