The expression “elephant in the room” refers to a situation where something major is going on, it’s on everyone’s mind and impossible to ignore—like an elephant in the room. But nobody talks about the “elephant” because nobody knows what to do about it.
For example, Uncle Nimrod is busily getting drunk again at the family Thanksgiving dinner. There’s going to be a drunken scene. But everyone feels powerless and chooses to ignore his behavior.
It’s along the same lines as “the emperor’s new clothes.” The emperor’s naked but nobody wants to be the first to say so.

Naked Emperors, Elephants in the Corner of Living Rooms…..they’re now part of the furniture that we call our capitalist society.
Metaphorically Bob Gordon, David Bartlett, Michael Aird are ALL naked emperors and huge immoveable elephants that keep demanding their presence and their fill.
Sadly the house-keeper hasn’t evicted these recalcitrants because the rest of the household’s too cover up for them!
Too busy paying off the swindlers that failed to make the Emperor his magic coat or too are busy trying to bury all the shit this elephant produces. Maybe, from such foul manure some good will come, EVENTUALLY!

David Bartlett is a weird guy. He called himself ‘clever’ and then immediately went into ‘bunker’ mode. This guy is going to be a lot easier to roll than Lennon. He’s nowhere near as smart as Lennon. He’s a little show pony.

Some talk about it and others have pointed it out.
Its only asn elephant for the old parties.
How it is made to break even and at least cease to be a finacial black hole, a ponzi scheme on the taxpayers, when contractual arrangments that ensure it is are legally made is beyond me.
But that must be done to return value to plantations and store carbon.
