EC’s Handbook states “The College Association consists of parents, community representatives, student delegates from the SRC, parents, elected staff members and the Principal.

The Association exercises an important influence on College policy-making processes.”

Well that they certainly have.

If a College Association is powerful enough to veto decisions of teachers they should be brave enough to put their names on record.

In an open transparent process, those who make these decisions should be named.

The Principal, Graeme Young is there, and the Chairperson according to EC’s winter newsletter is Peter Jarvis. The same newsletter states that “This year - the last year of the Elizabeth College Association - there are still vacancies for a couple of parent or community representatives..”.

So just how many people are on this comittee then to decide the educational future of hundreds of students and staff? Could they all fit in a phone box (if they still existed)! Were there enough members of the committee present for a quorum? How many comittee members are there and how many voted to join TT?
