John Boy that is a factual detail. It has been stated many times that the effluent from the pulp mill will be Tannin Stained.
Just go to any logging coupe and look at the puddles around the log landing after heavy rain. What do you see but black puddles of tannin stained water. All the sap in the trees will certainly go out with the effluent, also there is a process to burn some of the “black liquor” off to reduce the amount of waste that will need to be dumped in landfill.
