If we are to believe all that tumbles from the forked tongue of Gunns Ltd Chairman John Gay, then we view a classic demonstration of how corporate interests are the major political driving devices taking precedence above all else in this State?
Do note the Federal Government with their obsequious compliances that are part of the schematics to get this poisoning private enterprise up and happening?
So how is it possible in this day and age to believe that our collective governments are in any way concerned about poisonous gas emissions?
Perhaps by using the same strangled to death theory of naming all the coal fired electricity generating facilities that ARE the real ‘anti the environment’ entities, as vitally important clean coal industries?
Methinks the Copenhagen talks will be nought but a talkfest and junket for all the World’s International leaders.

“Methinks the Copenhagen talks will be nought but a talkfest and junket for all the World’s International leaders.”
No, you’re wrong William, it’s just the first in a whole series over the next few years…each probably a few years apart.

Russell, I do really hope I’m wrong, but as we see the whole of this carbons emissions trading business, the concept of selling clean atmospheres to those who pollute their atmospheres, is just a step away from using the same sort of logic to start selling sunlight to each other.
Nothing moves or transfers, every traded item remains exactly where it is.
Those persons who believe that this trading of carbon emissions is somehow going to halt pollutive carbon emissions and or the production of lethal gases, are setting themselves up to be let down in a huge dissapointing manner.
Again Russell, I would prefer to be wrong on all my contentions, but today the corporates rule.

Ah William, I love your entrepreneurial skills.
Selling sunlight…..mmmmm…now there is a thought!
Gotta be some serious cash to be made from that little venture…..let me know when you float it on the ASX…..

I hope we’re both wrong William. This ETS is purely and simply another MIS scam. It will solve nothing and makes pollution a commodity to profit from.
Unfortunately, KRudd’s just a talker….and Brendan Nelson????
If they were serious about tackling climate change they’d kill this pulp mill, and projects like it, and protect every single remaining forest on the planet.

Jesus ! guys, the worlds scientific community know full well that the sun is and “endless” supply of power, but the “boffins” funded by various govt’s keep lying to the masses that it is too expensive .
It is in fact the cheapest source of power available to us and is so simple that it would render millions of people redundant ! and thereby lies the problem.
