Building on the success of the Kellevie 12/24 hour Mountain Bike race and the Avanti Plus 6 hour, we are pleased to announce the next instalment at this great race track -the Appleby Avanti Plus 8 hour to be held at the Kellevie Mountain Bike Park March 27th 2011. The race will cater for all skill levels from beginners to professionals, with the option to race solo or in a team of up to four riders.

Each year the Kellevie races attract more riders. With an improved track and larger prize purse including cash prizes for the fastest Male and Female solo riders, the event is expected to easily exceed previous competitor numbers. There has been more work done on the course ensuring this year’s event will be giving riders some new tracks to play on. Kellevie races have always had an amazing atmosphere and vibe on the course as well as in the village and this year we want to build on that with a DJ, lots of giveaways and more shelter for riders and spectators.

Categories will include solo, pairs, teams of up to 4 riders and a schools category. 

The event continues to attract a large group of generous sponsors including: Appleby Avanti Plus, 4 Shaw, Sram, 2XU, Jet Black, Adidas Eyewear, Shotz Sports Nutrition, Jeanerette Electrical Technologies, Tasimages.com, Hobart Wheelers & Dirt Devils, Deuter, White Lightning, Kenda, Serfas, and Finish Line. 

The major event sponsor - Appleby Avanti Plus - have contributed many spot prizes including a carbon Avanti Competitor hard tail as a major spot prize – all entrants will go into the draw to win this race machine.  Dion Shaw from 4Shaw Agencies has also contributed some great prizes for those who reach the podium including a junior encouragement award for the fastest junior hot lap.
