The makers of Travelling Birds have done it again - they have created a film that takes you on a journey to discover the oceans magnificence, beauty and importance to our human existence, revitalising the nature documentary.

Before filming the producers undertook extensive research into what is in the planet’s five oceans, and then used new technologies to capture never-before seen imagery. The results have led to the film receiving critical acclaim amongst global audiences.

“This new film takes people to the heart of the world’s oceans – to the centre of a fleet of tuna racing through the ocean, alongside humpback whales, and right into the cuddling arms of mother and baby walrus,” said Rebecca Hubbard, Marine Coordinator with Environment Tasmania.

“This journey opens people’s eyes to how beautiful and important our oceans really are – and how much we need to care for them to ensure we all have a safe future.

“Our new short film on Tasmania’s Unique Marine Environment produced by Environment Tasmania and Ocean Planet, will be screened with the feature on opening day at the State Cinema, allowing Tasmanians to see how distinctive the underwater world is on our part of the world,” concluded Ms Hubbard.

“OCEANS allows the audience to be a part of marine life—to share all the emotions engendered by the exploration of the last great wild expanse: wonder, fear, calm, tenderness, violence, vitality, power. We took the time to allow the animals to invite us in. We waited to become a fish among fish.” Jacques Cluzaud, Director.
