Alma Da Vida
Flamenco, Latin, Jazz
The music of Alma Da Vida is a collaboration of three Tasmanian based musicians. Drawing on the flamenco and Spanish guitar style of Paul Gerard, the world music and jazz grooves of percussionist Jules Witek and the endless stream of ideas of Bassist Nigel Hope. All creating a style the trio describe as “Spanish fusion”.
Spanish music is very much about spontaneity at the time it is played and rarely are two pieces ever performed the same twice. While Spanish music may differ with the mood of the performers it will always have one element in common—- EMOTION.
Alma Da Vida hopes to create a work of art, which is an expression of themselves that the audience can take away with them.
