First Word #2 – Robbie Arnott

Robbie Arnott is a Tasmanian novelist. He’s the author of Flames and The Rain Heron. Originally from Launceston, he now lives in Hobart.

First Word
is a creative writing initiative from lutruwita/Tasmania. On the podcast, they talk to established writers about their craft and their careers, to help listeners with the process of developing a creative writing practice.

Every podcast episode provides a writing prompt for listeners to respond to with their own creative writing. You can find these prompts, along with further resources and readings, in the online episode notes.

Their online publication, the First Word Journal, features the work of first-time writers from Tasmania and beyond.

If you’re a new writer with a story to tell, FW would love to read it. Have a look at the guidelines and submit your work at the submissions portal.
